The WILD HORSE property: a Midas-style gold-silver target
Cornucopia Mining District,
Elko County,
Nevada, USA
The Wild Horse
property comprises one contiguous claim block of 22 unpatented lode
mining claims in the Cornucopia Mining District, Elko County, Nevada,
U.S.A. The claims total 440 acres and are located 60 miles
north-northwest of Elko, NV.
The
principal target on the Wild Horse property is a low-sulfidation
epithermal gold-silver deposit, typically found primarily as
quartz-adularia-calcite veins in volcanic rock.
From 1984
through 1989, at least four mineral exploration companies (Superior Oil,
Placid Oil, Freeport, and Barrick) carried out work programs on and
around the current property, which included 179 soil samples, 360 rock
samples, 7,360 feet of reverse circulation drilling, and 5 miles of IP
geophysical surveys.
Reported
gold assays from drill samples ranged from 0.01 opt (0.343 g/t) over 15
feet (4.5 meters) to 0.16 opt (5.486 g/t) over 5 feet (1.5 meters).
Reported silver assays ranged from 0.326 opt (11.177 g/t) over 5 feet
(1.5 meters) to 1.618 opt (55.474 g/t) over 10 feet (3 meters).
The
recommended exploration program consists of geophysical and possibly
geochemical ground work to define drill locations, followed by core
drilling to test targets at depth.
Geophysical and geochemical work is budgeted at US$114,000. Core
drilling is budgeted at a minimum of US$603,000. For more detail,
please see the latest
technical report, dated Nov
2006.
